PERSONAL TRAINER & FITNESS INSTRUCTOR.

Calum has been heavily involved in sport and exercise from a young age with sports such as martial arts, gymnastics, and was a national swimmer.

At the age of 13, he went to a specialised sports school where he continued swimming and eventually switched to become a national level 400m runner. Since then he has continued his passion with challenges such as the Paris marathon and climbing Kilimanjaro. In the last few years, Calum has taken his passion further by sharing his experience and helping others in health and fitness.

When he was a competitive sportsman training twice a day he found exercising could become quite mundane and was a means to an end. However, he now uses exercise as a tool to help maintain a stable sense of wellbeing and it is a much more enjoyable process.

We asked Calum a few questions;

1. What do you love most about being a trainer?

Being able to do something you find interesting and have a passion for is great. Also being able to support people in achieving their health and fitness goals is very rewarding as it can have a broad and significant impact on their daily lives.

2. How do you keep your clients motivated?

I think that exercise should be developed into a habit so rather than it being a chore it is something that you look forward to doing. This can be achieved by using low-pressure goals and keeping the sessions novel and exciting.

3. Why work with Be Fearsome?

Be Fearsome adopts an approach to exercising that is similar to that of my own. The philosophy of exercising in parks and the social and inclusive culture is great in maximising the benefits of exercising.

4. What fitness qualifications do you have?

  • Level 3 Personal Trainer

  • Level 2 Fitness Instructor

  • Pad work for group training

  • First Aid at work
